Garlic Scapes – Organic

Get these delicious, fleeting treat while they last! Scapes* are harvested throughout June and available for purchase only through about the first week of July.

* Certain types of garlic (known as the “hardneck” varieties) which grow in colder climates generate a long, spindly strand out of the center of the stalk. Most growers remove the scapes so the plant sends the energy to the bulb. It is time consuming and must be done by hand, which is why most farms growing hardneck varieties are not more than a few acres in size, another reason why scapes are hard to come by. Get some while you can!
